Not a huge fan of the reading method-I didn’t pay attention when I bought it that the reading would be like a script-so it was slow to catch me. The reader was very good, tho.
The story and ending was unexpected, which I love! So little surprise in recent fiction -everything is so predictable. Took me til the whole book was over to appreciate the characters and their interactions, and respect the main character for hers. Came out knowing that, in that era, few would have been strong enough to make the same choice, and not sure it was right, but loved the message of strength and independence.

Not intriguing by the minute, but love the overall theme
