Rosie is fairly certain that there's nothing wrong with putting a love spell on a foreign prince. At least she hopes there's not, because such a drastic measure is necessary in order for her to ensure that the perfect fairy tale romance she's dreamt about her entire life includes her own prince charming. As the heroine in her story, she won't be deterred by well-meaning friends, royal betrothals, hungry dragons, or the intriguing guard who stands in her way.

Luckily, Rosie has access to an enchanted bakery and a recipe book of spells, one of which will ensure she'll win the royal heart she desires. Unfortunately, no story is complete without a few obstacles, and Rosie's comes in the form of a most formidable foe - a stoic guard whom Rosie may or may not be developing feelings for, one who is committed to thwarting her at every turn. But nothing will stand in the way of Rosie's happily ever after. After all, what harm can a simple love spell do?

I loved the main love interest and the story over-all but the main character wasn’t exactly my favorite. I just didn’t like that she was so focused on herself that she couldn’t see how her shallow views were hurting those around her. I loved the resolution though and she started making a comeback for me at the end of the book.

Poor character but amazing story

The main character loves writing fairytale stories in her mind and trying to make them come to fruition in real life. This character’s personality is a product of the belief that anything is possible and that we can all narrate our own stories. When isolated from the reality of consequences and the challenges in life, a person can become a destructive force to their own happiness, as well as others, as they try to force their fairytale fantasy into reality.

The author does a great job of displaying the extreme actions that this type of character will go to. While the character is written well, the story did not demonstrate character development in most other characters. Supporting characters could benefit from more dynamic personalities and help to break up the main character’s inner thoughts. In the end, it lands as cautionary tale regarding many fairytales.

Making one’s own fairytale

This tired old wore out version of this story has been told retold and rewritten till it’s s sad tale with no imagination it’s only redeeming quality is the performer. The time I listened to this was a waste of time and hours I’d love to be able to get them back don’t waste your time

An old tale told differently but predictably
