Denver detective Jake McCoy is trying to recover - both physically and emotionally - from the shooting death of a young boy that also left her injured. She soon finds herself rehabbing at her cabin in the mountains, soaking in the remote natural springs - which is exactly where psychologist Nicole Westbrook vacations and soon stumbles across her....   

When Nicole leaves the next day, the two women know little more about the other than her first name - yet they are now lovers instead of strangers.  

When Jake returns to Denver, a serial murder investigation soon leads her to Nicole. As the investigation develops, their physical attraction threatens to compromise the case. Nicole finds herself struggling to remain in the professional closet that she's been hiding in for so long - a place where an out cop like Jake McCoy simply does not belong.  

Once the crimes are solved, will the women go their separate ways? Or will the physical attraction and the gentle tug of love prove that opposites do attract....

I liked this one. The women are mature, the plot involves hot kiss- ing and heavy breathing but of greater interest to me is the search for the serial killer. And the Colorado Rockies, of course.
A fine read.

Loved it!! Gerri Hill always impresses!! Great love story, not over the top angst, will definitely listen again soon!! And Abby Craden seems to get for enable each time I listen!!

A killer of a story

Never before has an author and narrator belonged together. Gerri Hill’s stories never fail to get the reader enthralled and with the voice of Abby Craden, they are a match made in heaven. My next adventure with these two awaits.

My favorite by Gerri Hill so far!!

this is my 5th Gerri Hill audio book I've listened to over the last couple of years and even though I loved the other ones, this one blew them all out of the water.

The murder mystery was so engaging, I felt like I was trying to solve this right along side these characters the entire time.

The romance was hot, of course, the characters were relatable. I love that Gerri targets an older audience with mature characters. I'm 30 and still need to feel like my best years are ahead of me! lol

it took a whole to get going but when it did WOW. Did nit guess the big bad, that was well done. Narrator is the best in the business love Abby Craden.
