They're hanging Bobby Lee Cabot in Cloverdale, Nevada on Friday. Or so they think.

Thursday brings Smoke Jensen to town. In another life, Bobby Lee was almost kin to Smoke, and guilty or not, Smoke will blast Cloverdale sky high if that's what it takes to set his old friend free. By midnight, Smoke and Billy Ray are riding hell-for-leather out of Cloverdale, and into a war between cunning railroad robbers and the organization sworn to stop them. 

Bobby Lee was working for the railroads until he was betrayed. Now, both men are pursued by deadly enemies on either side of the law. For a former mountain man who's tried to make a peaceful life back in Colorado, there's only one way back home: he's going on the attack. And this attack won't stop until the bitterest, bloodiest end....

Once again, great story will develop characters. I could listen to the adventures of smoke four hours, days.

the narrator knows how to make this sound like a real western

keep mort Shelby as the narrator he knows how the South sounds. I will always listen to the way he speaks on a western

Shootout of the Mountain Man (Smoke)

This is another good book in the life of Smoke. In this book Smoke's friend the brother of his first wife is supposed to be hung. Smoke goes and trys to help. There is a good story in Smoke helping Bobby lee prove his innocence. I highly recommend this one. This is a movie in your mind style of book with several narraters. They do a good job. Buck West to the rescue

I liked this book. I nice to see that Smoke can still think on his feet. He was in a situation that would take more than a quick draw.
