Nearly everyone is familiar with holograms - three-dimensional images projected into space with the aid of a laser. Two of the world's most eminent thinkers believe that the universe itself may be a giant hologram, quite literally a kind of image or construct created, at least in part, by the human mind. University of London physicist David Bohm, a protégé of Einstein and one of the world's most respected quantum physicists, and Stanford neurophysiologist Karl Pribram, an architect of our modern understanding of the brain, have developed a remarkable new way of looking at the universe. Their theory explains not only many of the unsolved puzzles of physics but also such mysterious occurrences as telepathy, out-of-body and near-death experiences, lucid dreams, and even religious and mystical experiences, such as feelings of cosmic unity and miraculous healings. Now featuring a foreword by Lynne McTaggart, The Holographic Universe is a landmark work with exciting conclusions that continue to be proven true by today's most advanced physics, cosmology, and string theory.

… about some of the older 'Western' experiencers and researchers of the supernormal, including physicists and historical events on the most potent current theories in experiential consciousness. I hadn't heard, for example, that Wolfgang Pauli was known to be psychokinetic! (But I would have *loved* to talk to the man!) Yet, for example, I have contemporary friends who are psychokinetic, as well as myself. This book's a very wide-ranging survey of many, many Western supernormal things. Bear in mind that the book is now several decades old, and there might be good, newer science available about what Talbot discusses. And Talbot was often a gifted, often colorful wordsmith.

You could use this listen as a beginner's, non-scientific primer on Bohmian holo-movements if, like me, you’re new to his thought. 8 of my renowned acquaintances or friends are mentioned in this book. They include Roshi Joan Halifax, Larry Dossey MD, Hal Puthoff, Russell Targ, George McMullen, Stephan Schwartz, Jacques Vallee, and Stanley Krippner PhD. All of them are respected scientists or experiencers. I'd worked or consulted with four of them. I co-produced a conference in which two of them spoke. One of them advised one of my companies.

You could ascribe the naysayer's *unsupported* reviews of this book as the unwillingness of the fearful: It's clear they haven't actually reviewed, understood or even read the longstanding, extant, published, often scientific literature about the supernormal topics presented here. This audio version also has many mispronunciations of words you’ll want to overlook. This review is from a lifelong claircognizant, a synesthete with a fairly eidetic memory, who has studied several aspects of the supernormal, including the siddhis, for decades.

Absolutely mind bending and game changing!

Every 5-10 years I come across a book that answers all the questions that I have accumulated since a last book had such an effect. I look forward to using the lessons from the holographic universe to accelerate the arrival of the next and the next after next such book.

On my very short list of life-changing knowledge

Talbot highlights connections between some of the more spiritual aspects of our existence and science. Humanity can radically change if we take these aspects of our existence more seriously.

A beautiful connection of science and spirituality

I thoroughly enjoyed the content, but found myself nodding off a few times. The readers voice was melodic in a way that rocks you to sleep, but I wanted to learn. Gonna read again though.

Interesting but the voice was a little boring
