An enjoyable old west tale

My first 19th century western. The descriptions were vivid and colorful. The plot was interesting and kept my attention. Some of the concepts seemed more 21st century and a little unbelievable. The reading was very well done with good distinctions most the time between characters. The whispery quality of the reader’s voice was sometimes annoying because I couldn’t get the volume high enough to be heard while doing household chores.
