Never in a million years did I think it would be Ian Parker who saved me....

I know I should stay away from Ian Parker.

But when my drug-dealing stepdad kicks me out, I have nowhere to go. Squatting in an abandoned shed on Ian’s grandpa’s farm seems like as good a plan as any.

Ian finds me there, of course, and he insists on me moving into his spare room. I should say no, but the appeal of a roof and a warm bed is too much. Not to mention Ian’s brown eyes and strong arms.

We’re nothing alike, but the spark between us is undeniable. My life is finally looking up.

Until I call the cops on my stepdad and unintentionally get my pregnant mom arrested.

Now I have to sacrifice my dreams to take care of my mom’s baby. She’s the only family I have left. Meanwhile, Ian’s band is taking off; his dreams are coming true.

Ian is my one chance at love. I just hope he doesn’t become the one chance that got away.

The book really was very good. The male narrators voice bothered me so much I had to turn it off and read the book. He sounds like a mix of Casey Casem and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.

The book was awesome!

A beautifully emotional story. Ian and Hazel was put through the wringer, especially Hazel. But despite the pain, anger and heartache, they also had joy, happiness and Love. Ian's friends were awesome and so was Leah. I adore Big Paw and Holly, this book was packed full of all the things I love about a small town. I loved how all the issues were worked out without any unnecessary misunderstanding and there wasn't any cliche trope. I'll be checking out more of this Author's work and I hope to see more of this writing style. The narration was very enjoyable, both Stella Bloom and Rock Engle did a wonderful job

Confession : I love you until forever

Never got to the good part. DNF. Rock Engle's narration almost made it unbearable, way too animated. Maybe I'll develop the patience to go back to listen. Not one of my favorites, by this author, couldn't connect with the storyline.

Too much of a slow burn...

I love listening to Stella Bloom and Rock Engle was great as well!

The Wreckage of Us was a good small town rock star romance.

Hazel and Ian didn't get off to the best start. Each coming from different walks of life they never interacted until Hazel came looking for work on Big Pa's farm.

Hazel was so down on her luck she just couldn't win but she never gave up and worked herself every minute to get what she wanted. At first Ian was honestly quite a tool but did a complete 180 (almost unbelievably so) once things started to progress with Hazel. Lots of things went down in this book and it almost felt like it was a few books combined together. Overall I enjoyed the story and I like Brittainy Cherry's writing.

Great Small Town Book!

The Wreckage of Us is a standalone contemporary romance from Brittainy C. Cherry. It is all her signature writing style. Strong characters and all the feels. The connection between Ian and Hazel was beautiful. Very much a slow delicious burn!! Ian blew me away. This man let me tell you at first I could not stand him! Has a new girl every single night. He was nasty to Hazel and had a huge chip on his shoulder regarding Hazel. He made judgements about her before he even got a change to know her but when he finally sees her in a different light and realizes they have more in common than we could have ever imagined it was a beautiful thing! I adored watching their relationship develop. It was unique and not without its flaws but the romance and chemistry was all there and I adored it.

Ian is a hard working. He lives and works on his grandparents farm. He is also in a band called Wreckage. Just as a relationship between the two has just begun Ian is being given the opportunity for him and his band members to make it big which will take Ian away from Hazel while he is on tour.

Hazel I LOVED! Wow did my heart break for her! She is incredibly resilient and is a fighter. She was mature beyond her years. Her mother has a drug addiction and her abusive step-father is a nasty piece of work and she was kicked out of her home at 18 years old. She doesn’t have any where to go and ends up staying at the farm.

There were some big obstacles to climb and their HEA is not an easy one and well I thought some of it could have been handled differently the plot was strong and I was completely invested in the characters.

So why 4 stars? Almost every book I have read by this author I have been wowed by the characters, by the message, by the romance and while this story was good it wasn’t the caliber of writing I am used to from this author. There were some parts that were predictable and I was just left wanting a bit more.

Regardless I still loved it. I will forever and always read everything this author puts out. Her writing is that good and although not my favourite this is still an incredible read and I recommend it.

Stella Bloom and Rock Engle did an incredible job narrating this. Their voices are full of passion and emotion and I enjoyed the listening experience.

Beautiful
