Accidents happen in the strange realms of the African Union system. One of them sends two humans to the far side of a star gate in a thrilling short story of hope, survival, and new dimensions.

Copilots Msizi and Tariro are testing a newly constructed wormhole jump that presumably leads to unsettled habitable worlds. Then an explosion sends them off course, far from where they started and with little chance of ever making it back. Now they’re stranded on their new home for the diaspora. It’s called Malcolm X-b. But they’re beginning to wonder how many light-years from civilization they really are.

C.T. Rwizi’s These Alien Skies is part of Black Stars, a multi-dimensional collection of speculative fiction from Black authors. Each story is a world much like our own. Read or listen to them in a single sitting.

I would recommend this for anyone looking for a good sci-Fi short story. Lovely twist and I really cared about the story and characters.

I loved this story. What a beautiful representation of a Black af Future🥰
I also loved the nod to history and the truly alien aliens.

Beautiful

A fresh and brilliant take on space travel and colonization, with complex characters who feel like real persons and abstractions. Gorgeously narrated, too.

Brilliant story, beautifully narrated.

The plot of having a new world full of peace, based on the origin of civilization from earth is remarkable. I love the fact that the new world is protected from greed and corruption. Any attempt dominate is instant death. No opportunity to manipulate, oppress, or pilfer from others then falsely claim the content.

Wonderful Story of Greatness

I have been listening to the Black Stars in order and this one is the best so far. I really enjoyed this and to me it showed how you can have a short story but it is still a full story. I enjoyed the narration but the pacing was a bit slow. I never speed up audio but I listened to this at 1.20 because it had a lot of long pauses that where just annoying but the talent of the narrator was very good.
