Sean's spent the last 16 years of his life using his powers in a never-ending quest of exacting vengeance while saving the lives of innocent victims. The problem however, is that's all Sean has been doing. Forced to hide who and what he is from the world, Sean's life has become a fairly meaningless existence.

But after an unexpected weekend with a rather willing woman, Sean suddenly realizes that there's a lot more to life than an endless stream of criminals and vengeance. It's time to let someone else punish the guilty.

It's time to start enjoying life.

Note: Contains harem, violence, bad language, and a fair amount of partying.

There's no cringe language or characters, unlike many books I'm reading with similar themes. Stry van knows his stuff.

One of my favorites

This was a kickass sexually charged, comic bookesk superhero/villain antihero, adventure. The MC, Shadow Cat or just simply Shadow, has to be one of the coolest comic book antiheroes that I've ever read. Jan Stryvant did an excellent job at creating this character and bringing his story out for everyone to enjoy. I'm a huge fan of his work and have read and or listened too probably between 15 and 20 of his books. Shadow is definitely different than Stryvant's other series' but he still shows a lot of his same style and traits visible in his work. It kept me captivated from start to finish. It reminded me of an NC-17 version of Rules of Supervillainy by CT Phipps, Origins of a D-List Super Villain by Jim Bernheimer, and Villains Rule by MK Gibson. (Also with a bit of Eden Redd thrown into the mix.) Though more action packed, sexually charged, and darker then those other books. Ironically the narrator Charlie Boxwood, has very suspiciously similar sound to the narrator Jeffrey Kafer, who narrated the three villain books listed above. Jeffrey Kafer is, in my opinion, one of the best audiobook narrators out there. He really knows how to capture the sarcasm, wit, and overall cool nature of comic book type antiheroes. Kafer, er... ah... I mean, Boxwood was the perfect choice to narrate this book! He really brought Shadow to life. Between the writing and narration this book is five stars all around and definitely worth the purchase. I sincerely hope that more Shadow books will be coming out in the future.

An action-packed, adult comic book antihero story!

This book is a great story about being a super and the story of one man walking the path he chose both good and bad. It is a great one off book full of excitement and action.

Great story if you ever wanted to know what it’s like being a superhero / villain and walking the path you chose
