Publisher's summary

As magic’s influence spreads across the five kingdoms, the White Tower’s reach extends with it.

No place is left untouched.

In his quest for vengeance against the witch Mangora, Ty stumbles across a curious book he believes might help. But its pages hold a dark secret that threatens to unravel everything his family and friends have been fighting for. The more he reads, the more addicted he becomes to the knowledge it offers....

With no memory of who he is or where he came from, Ayrion finds himself traveling with a pair Rhivanni tinkers as they head east toward Sidara. Then a plea for help from a young rover boy leads them into the middle of a horrific bloodbath against an enemy no one has seen in over a thousand years. If they aren’t stopped, these creatures will spread across Aldor, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake....

As the first prisoner to escape the clutches of the White Tower, Ferrin’s only concern is reaching his sister, Myriah, before the Black Watch catches him. Joined by Rae, her daughter, Suri, and a former captain in the Black Watch, the small band makes their way north, hoping to keep ahead of the white riders. Little do they know who has been sent to track them down....

Meanwhile, Kira and the Warren underground continue their search for Reevie as they attempt to discover the reason behind the strange disappearances in Aramoor. However, the answers they seek are more disturbing than anything they could have imagined....

Plague of Shadows, very entertaining book!

Great characters, great story and Tim Reynolds did an excellent job telling us!
My suggestion is to listen to the street rats of Aramoor first, then to the white tower and then the plague of shadows. If you enjoy sci-fi fantasy books then I highly recommend the books from Michael Wisehart!

Excellent book !

This 2nd book in the series was just as enjoyable as book one. Plenty of action, magic, intrigue, complicated relationships , battles ,horrific creatures , accidental & intentional heroes, etc. Ty continues to be reckless, immature & his own worse enemy, making poor decisions @ every corner. However his building powers have the potential to be the hope or destruction of the world’s inhabitants. Fight scenes are just as graphic as in the first book, so readers who have weak stomachs beware. All the characters are well developed, except for the curious night walker, whose background story has not been fully fleshed out yet. You will become very invested in the characters & either love or hate them depending on the side they are on. The narrator is excellent & has so many voices in his repertoire, that every character has its own very distinctive sound. His skills bring great depth to the story. I am loving the series & highly recommend it. On my way to book 3!!

Fair story but doesn't sync up with the side story

I read the Street Rats of Aramoor before starting this series, which covers the early life of Ayrion and his growing up among the clans of Aramoor after being banished from his home. It was fairly light weight reading but I enjoyed the series. I won't go into spoilers, but one issue I have is that when they bring up Ayrion's childhood in the "Aldoran Chronicles" there are glaring inconsistencies between the two stories, that shouldn't have made it through editing.

That said, the story is entertaining, which is about all that I ask for now days, and Gerard Reynolds is fantastic in his narration. I often try out books just because he is the one narrating them.

I care too much

Plenty of swordplay and heroics. But also so much empathy. Sometimes I had to set it aside because I just couldn’t deal with the pain and confusion a character felt. That’s what made the book real to me.

Simply EXCELLENT. Ya…..It’s THAT GOOD.

This is my 3rd time listening to this series.
I have 3 credits sitting in my Audible account (nbd…I have 300+ titles already) and I was on the hunt for an EPIC “Sword & Sorcery” series to find and devour….. then I realized that the FOURTH book in this series came out. Long story short, here I am. Listening to the ENTIRE set. Again.

And loving every second.

If you like Lord Of the Rings, Shadow & Bone, Epic S&S genre, NOT LitRPG (booooo! 👎🏼), 30+ hours per book, AND narration that immerses you straight in. Stop here and go get book 1: The White Tower.

This series is packed to the brim with ACTION!!! And adventure. And undead. And MAGIC. Oh did I mention…it’s CLEAN! No sex scenes-although it def has romance! I can listen to it on my H/K speaker LOUDLY while I’m in the bath without cringing 😬 bc my
5½ y/o is ALSO listening. I honestly can’t wait for her to get to that age where SHE starts getting into Audiobooks so we can SHARE the adventure.

Ohhhh…..and the NARRATOR Tim Gerard Reynolds (TGR)!!! That man has a GIFT for storytelling! And WHY hasn’t he WON any Audible Awards for BEST NARRATOR??! Seriously. How do we get THAT fixed? ASAP.

Well…I guess it wasn’t QUITE a long story short. I can only hope that this helps you decide to START THIS SERIES ALREADY!
Enjoy.
You can thank me later 😉

Poetry in Motion

The White Tower sequel follows the first without the author feeling the need to continually rehash the story from the first book. Add to that, the narration by Tim Gerard Reynolds, and you have an audiobook that is all killer, no filler.

Bring on the 3rd instalment!

Loved it. A wonderful suspenseful story that left me not wanting to stop listening. The narrator is masterful as well in voice characterization.

What will happen to ty? Will the general regain his memories? Will finn escape cheeks for good? I need answers
