A heart-pounding romantic suspense from RWA Lifetime Achievement Award–winning author Linda Howard—where passion, danger, and psychic visions collide.

Marlie Keen thought she had left her past—and her dangerous clairvoyance—behind. For years she’s tried to live a quiet, ordinary life, believing the “knowing” that allowed her to witness crimes in real time had vanished. But when the visions return with terrifying force, Marlie knows she needs help to control them…or risk being consumed.

Detective Dane Hollister of the Orlando Police Department is skeptical when Marlie claims to see crimes as they happen. Yet he can’t ignore the way she unsettles him—with her haunting vulnerability, her determination, and the electric attraction that sparks between them. For Dane, Marlie is both a mystery and a temptation, awakening a desire he can’t resist.

As their connection deepens, the investigation draws them into the twisted mind of a ruthless killer who will stop at nothing to silence Marlie. Together, they must navigate a perilous path—balancing the searing heat of their passion with the deadly stakes of a relentless pursuit.

Dream Man is a seductive, edge-of-your-seat romantic thriller that blends sizzling chemistry with white-knuckle suspense, perfect for fans of Mr. Perfect and After the Night.

Start to finish this is one of Susan Howard’s best books. The characters are well developed and engaging making them easy to picture. The story is well crafted and satisfying. It’s one book I’ll willingly reread.

Can you have a perfect hard headed, no nonsense, stubborn man? If so, then Dane is your man. I love him and Marlie. That epilogue will forever live rent free in my heart.

I love Linda Howard’s writing. This book was originally published in print in 1994, and it reflects the decade in which it was written. If landlines, pagers and faxes, instead of mobile phones, texts and emails bother you, then this is not your book. 🤣 Regardless of decade, Linda‘s writing is as talented as ever here.

I enjoyed Phil Gigante at first, until he began to voice the FMC. He doesn’t seem to have the knack of voicing female characters without making them sound breathy, childlike, and weak. He did a great job at the male voices. Unfortunately, when I was looking for other books he has narrated, I found some disturbing criminal convictions in his past. I don’t think I’ll be putting my money towards anything else he’s narrated, whether I love the author or not.

Better to read it in print
