Good book awful reading

The book is very good, lots of interesting information. Where do the accents come from ? The reader is imagining what people sounded like ? He even mispronounces Rosetta Stone.

Interesting subject

I found this an illuminating and informative book, well written. I liked the pace of the narrative, too.

Wish I’d read this in high school. It would have pointed me in a totally different direction.

How writing shapes the world

The deciphering of the Rosetta Stone is the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but the arc of discovery is so varied and colorful, a treat for the curious mind and ear.

Better if 1/3 shorter

I enjoyed it for most part, altho I increased speed to 1.1 to get thru it. I also resorted to listening to first & last few min of last chapters. Great story, but too long
