The Secret, Book & Scone Society: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

Miracle Springs is a place of healing. Strangers flock there hoping the natural hot springs, five-star cuisine, and renowned spa can cure their ills. And, if none of that works, they often find their way to Miracle Books, where, over a fresh-baked scone from the Gingerbread House bakery, they exchange their stories with owner Nora Pennington in return for a carefully chosen book. That's Nora's special talent: prescribing the perfect novel to ease a person's deepest pain and lighten their heaviest burden.

But when a visiting businessman reaches out to Nora for guidance, he's found dead on the train tracks before he can keep their appointment. Determined to uncover the truth behind the businessman's demise, Nora forms the Secret, Book, and Scone Society, and, as the society works to untangle the web of corruption surrounding the murder, they also discover their own courage, purpose, and a sisterhood that will carry them through every challenge.

*Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Background music too distracting, recommend music in the places where it goes in a mystery movie!

Don't like the background music

Not sure who thought the music would add to the book. It is an incredible distraction and prevented me from entering into the narrative.
For me it ruined the story. If there is a way to remove it or shorten it to chapter changes that would be best. NOT a Value Added

Music in the background a distraction

...I did have an issue with them “background” music. I personally found it distracting. I have 50% hearing loss, so it was like being in a room with several conversations going and I had to struggle to hear the the story. Maybe had the music been plotted down a bit more.. but cute story!!!

Cute Story but...

The story is very good, the narrator is good, however, the constant background music is distracting and very annoying.

Annoying background music

Unfortunately, the thing that stood out most for me was not the book or the performance. The background music - my opinion - just about ruined the whole experience. That’s the worst thing - in my opinion - that one could have done to this audible book. Other than that I thought this to be one of the best books I’ve read this fall/winter season. I loved that these strong women were brought together in this small town in North Carolina. I love the support and friendship that grows among them. I can only hope that I can find the support and the friendships that these women found. As a book lover (and one who now gathered a whole new list of titles to find and read thanks to this wonderful author!) I could relate and just imagine how wonderful it would be to have someone available to listen to my present challenges and help me select titles that could bring comfort and answers to current situations. I do find that sometimes from friends, but mostly from my own library or from the book reviews I read on Amazon or other book store websites. The characters were well defined and the wait for the secrets of the four to be revealed gave me the anticipation that kept me reading. But there was also the mystery of the murders committed, the dangers being faced from greedy schemers and underhanded cops. The narration was wonderful - when I wasn’t distracted y the background music (which was not far enough back in the background for my taste). The volume was just too loud for me. I feel sure that many did enjoy it, but if you are going to use the background music on future recordings, please give me an option to turn off the background sound. I want to hear these artist’s words and intonations and detect the different voices of the various characters. These people are excellent in their artistic abilities and that’s what I so enjoy about the audible books. I buy these audible books to listen to the story. If I want music, I put on a CD or MP3 or sing. Did you get that I would prefer not to have background music on my audible books? 👌😁

Wonderful Story about the Power of Books, Secrets, and Scones
