Issa's adventures continue as she searches for her chosen sister Astra. This book was painful to listen to at times. The author dwells so much on the trials and not enough on triumphs. It was one set back after another and unnecessary details strewn all over the place.
Issa added another man to her growing uhm... family so there is MMMMMF (!) sex along with the MMM or MM sex. I mean what did you expect? The boys got tired of waiting!
The climax is not a climax at all and it got swallowed up with all the extras. Not enough focus on the happy stuff.
Same narrators, same problems... Troy Duran doesn't really narrate much. Both narrators fall short on narration of the opposite sex characters. Due to this, I had no idea who was with whom and how. It was one big happy f***.

More intrigue but not enough focus

The story has a good plot that delivers. However, the romance was unrealistic. So much so that I would call it lust instead of romance.
Pure fantasy. I suppose that’s the idea but it was hard for me to connect to its characters. Issa is very hypocritical and selfish in her relationships with the kings. Although, the author tried really hard to sell the idea that this is love, it really isn’t. Very ambitious. Complete failure.

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!
I was not prepared for their so called ménage à trois or six! It’s steamy if you’re into the bisexual orgy type. If not, just zip through it. The story is well worth it.
I wanted to finish this story and glad I did. I just wish Serena didn’t try so hard to sell her idea of love when it clearly wasn’t. It was like she kept trying to push it on her readers trying to convert us. Awkward.

I am looking forward to the next novel in spite of this. Like I said before, the story is good. Doesn’t have to be perfect, but good where it counts in substance of plot.

Narration was good but I don’t understand why Troy Duran gets only cameo spots when his voice is so sexy. It’s like a teaser. Very frustrating! Better to leave him out if there’s only three spotlights in the entire audio. Kendall does a fantastic job and sufficient for the task. I can visualize each character through her skillful voice adaptation. Excellent performance!

Kind of bummed with book two. Loved the steamy scenes and fair warning there is some MM scenes. I found myself fast forwarding near the end because the buildup before the battle was killing me. Story also ends on a cliffhanger.
Narration was awesome.

Unless book 3 is coming out don’t read/listen to this bs it ends on a cliffhanger and this book has a whole lot of sex in it. M/M sex scenes & everything. Honestly I don’t know if I recommend the male characters are confusing I couldn’t figure out who was who. Don’t waste a credit or spend a lot. Wait for it be on escape or discounted price.

Heads Up.

So I was so excited for this book to come out that I didn’t even read the reviews like I normally would. The first book was so good, this one was not as good. The beginning was very slow. It didn’t become interesting to me until we found the back story about her parents. I’m someone who loves a good sex scene, but these seemed to drag on. There’s also a few MM sex scenes, so if that’s not your thing beware. It lacked action and wasn’t as funny as the first one. I also thought it lacked romance and it was just mainly about the sex. Issa was still super strong like she was in the first one, which was nice. Overall this book definitely lacked and I wouldn’t recommend it.
