The Hell...I almost QUIT!

I enjoy a great a book but typically I would rather spend my time reading things that will lighting my life. This book was heartbreaking for the first 20 chapters. Almost to the point that I wasent sure if I could continue. It introduced situations and plots that I have been fortunate enough to see only on TV. The narrator's were kind of too GOOD they took me to the dark place that the author wanted you to experience. However, fight or flight kicked in and I was drawn in deeper and able to press on.

Emotional, beautiful, breathtaking!

Kennedy Ryan is a master of giving you a story that will consume you and is filled with emotions. This story captured my heart and had me in emotional overload.

Iris, my goodness, this woman is a survivor and a fighter. My heart bled for her and Sarai. And August, what a truly remarkable man. His patience, and hope, and love know no bounds. His and Iris’ connection bleeds through the pages. There were parts that were hard to read, parts that made me cry, parts that made me hope, and parts that filled my heart with joy. This story sheds beauty and love when you feel as though there is no hope. It’s honest, sincere, and absolutely breathtaking.

Wow!

I picked a heavy hitter for my first Kennedy Ryan book. I had no idea this book was so going to bring me through such an emotional roller coaster.

Sean Crisden is one of my absolute favoriteale narrators and I have instantly become a huge fan of Jo Raylan. Amazing narration makes an amazing book absolutely breathtaking and these two delivered.

On August i wish there were more of you in this world

Long shot is one of the best books of 2018 for me. Kennedy does an amazing job at telling a very hard but true story of the world we all live in. She writes this with the most dignity and respect for a tough subject. The narration done by Sean and Jo could not have been easy on this but they did a fabulous job letting us hear all the feelings and emotions coming through their tones . This is a must read in my opinion.. Thanks Kennedy for writing a story that sticks to a person's heart and soul and gives people an eye opening, heart thumping awakefulness to a rough topic, but gives real men like August to dream of.

Gripping story

What a gripping story from Kennedy Ryan. This one was hard to listen to, but very compelling. Those sensitive to domestic abuse issues should avoid this book. The story centers around professional basketball players. There is a horrible abuser, but also a sweet, loving relationship. The book won the RITA Award and it was well deserved.
