Good

I love these books about the Others. One of the things I love about these books is it seems like there is several stories within each book. There is a lot of action in these books and there are several different things going on with several different characters at one time. According to the authors note there is a little overlap with this book and the last book etched in bone. After reading this book there is a little bit overlap but not enough to be annoying in the story. I like the fact that some of the characters in this book are also characters in previous books. I thought the ending could’ve been a little bit better but it felt a little like a cliffhanger.I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

This was a good read , filled with great characters that we've seen before but didn't know deeply. I liked this book better than the last others spin off.

loved this story. great writing as always. I couldn't put the last few chapters down, had to finish it. Now I'm disappointed it's done.

I needed more faith

I have to admit that this story did not draw me in like the others. I love everything that Anne Bishop writes but there is just something that I cannot get into when it came to this story. I started reading this book when it first came out back in 2019 and it took me about 9 months to complete. The first two to three hours I just couldn't do it. I just felt as though it was not flowing together and in my mind and I had to put it down and come back to it later. Unfortunately for me, coming back to it later meant a whole new year.

As I told myself that I need to complete books that I have started but left behind I felt kind of foolish. I should have powered through the first couple of hours and then I would have realized the beauty and gloriousness that this book is.

I have to admit that I was not anticipating everything that was going to happen within this story. It gave me everything that I love about the series as well as the suspense that I needed.

In the very beginning it was not very intense but as the story progresses there were new characters introduced and they were not nice. They were villains to the 10th power and I was getting my life when they had their own point of view.

I'm very happy that I decided to start from the very beginning and not start where I left off in order to get the whole overall experience of the story. I have to admit that this story is a relisten.

I am very happy with this installment within the series and I know that Miss Bishop is going back to her Black Jewels series but I will be really excited when she decides to go back to this. I should have had more faith in Miss Bishop that she would put out a phenomenal book.
