In a time of crisis, two women come together and set off down a road of hope in this novel in the Tending Roses series from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Before We Were Yours.

Twenty-year-old Jenilee Lane, whose dreams are as narrow as the sky is wide, doesn’t imagine any good could come out of the tornado that has ripped across the Missouri farmland where she makes her home. But some inner spark compels her to take action. To rescue her elderly neighbor Eudora Gibson from the cellar in which she’s been trapped. To make her way to the nearby town of Poetry, where the townspeople have begun to gather in the only building left standing. To collect from the devastated landscape fragments of life that lie strewn about in the tornado’s wake: letters, photographs, and mementos that might mean something to people who have lost everything.

Eudora Gibson didn’t think Jenilee had it in her. But the girl she’s hardly noticed for years is now surprising her—stepping forward with a bravery that inspires Eudora to face her own bitter past. Brought close by tragedy, the two will learn lessons about the resilience of the human spirit and the ties that make a community strong. And together, they will travel to a place that once lay beyond their dreams.

Praise for Good Hope Road

“A novel bursting with joy amidst crisis: small town life is painted with scope and detail in the capable hands of a writer who understands longing, grief and the landscape of a woman’s heart.”—Adriana Trigiani, author of the Big Stone Gap trilogy

“Wingate has written a genuinely heartwarming story about how a sense of possibility can be awakened in the aftermath of a tragedy to bring a community together and demonstrate the true American spirit.”—Booklist

“Wingate’s novels, like those of Nicholas Sparks and Richard Paul Evans and others, takes a middle ground between Christian and mainstream fiction—uplifting, clean and inspiration but not overtly religious.”—Bryan-College Station Eagle

“Lisa Wingate's characters come to life as the whirling winds bring not just destruction but miracles and an opportunity for Jenilee to leave Poetry and become the woman she was destined to be.”—RT Book Reviews

When a tragedy happens we sometimes do not know our own strength. A reminder.

I’ve listened to many of Lisa’s books and I love them. This one was a little harder to get into but definitely worth finishing. God has a way of opening our eyes during difficult times to a new way of doing things. Pull us out of a “going no where rut” and making us look at different possibilities. This whole story is about different possibilities and making difficult changes for the better.

Sometimes a set back is Gods set up for something better.

This book especially hit home with me since just last year tornadoes swept through the part of Mississippi where I grew up. I heard many friends there telling of the letters, photos and other memorabilia they found on their farm land and the efforts to return them to their owners.

Heart warming!
