Captivating

Audible was frustrating. The Author and Narrator were superb! I was so frustrated with the sample Audible provided vs. the actual narration of the story. Audible needs to change their samples to include actual parts of the book. When I listen to the sample, I’m not only listening to the story but the actual narrator. I’m glad I continued with the story because it was beautifully read and written. I was frustrated with the American accent at the beginning and almost didn’t listen to the rest of the story. When the setting is in England, I expect English accents not American. The narration part of the story is indeed in the American accent but the speaking parts are English accents. I was really impressed with the narration. Yes, there were times when some parts didn’t sound quite right but it didn’t deter from the wonderful story. It was interesting, compelling, and captivating through the slow reveal of the truth in the misunderstanding. Through the last part of this story, I couldn’t stop crying but I know a big reason was just a recent personal connection. I stayed up all night to finish the book! I enjoyed this book

I listened to this one on the back of another romance novel and I found that the names got mixed up. Perhaps it was because of the performance of Aubrey Warner, whom I really enjoy. But I need a break for awhile because so many of them are the same.

Decent proper romance

I liked the story, the performance was fine, but I didn’t feel a major draw to finish the story. It just didn’t capture me and I thought I could stop listening at any moment and be fine.

Wonderful Story!

I really enjoyed this book! I had the pleasure of reading this book years ago in it's beta phase, and it has only improved as it was refined and I like it even more now.

I love the characters probably most of all. They are so real with very relatable flaws, and very satisfying growth.

I listened to more than half the book on audible and can really recommend the narrator. She did a great job creating distinct voices and infusing personality into the characters.

I enjoyed it thoroughly. this is the 2nd of her books I have read and I look forward to the next.

Beautiful Story of love and loss

This is my first time listening to a book by this author. It did not disappoint! I found this a beautiful story of getting through the brokenness of life. I love how the author transitioned from the past and to the present. I felt a Jane Austen vibe from this book. It was beautifully written and I did not want to hit pause.

If you love Jane Austen books definitely give this one a try!

I loved the characters, and the story line was beautiful. This would make a great movie.

Wonderful well developed story

I really enjoyed the depth of this story. I don’t think I have cried from one of these stories in a long time
But I sure did in this one! I was sooo mad at the society and how they treated Eleanor but happy that the man finally got a clue and it explained his emotional state and resins for treating her as he did. Very well written in my opinion! I would have loved to see Beatrice and her mother get their come-up-ance though!

Loved it!

I loved this book! I think Heidi Kimball is an amazing regency romance, author her books have always uplifted me and made me excited to continue reading! Hope she never stops, writing her books!
