Finally a book that reflects me!!

The MC are older women 68 YO, the story line is so interesting and captivating. It is told so well, and narrated so well.
Chapter 28 is written as if I wrote it.
If you are in your 50’s and up, get this book.

A moving story of lesbian love

As the book opened, I wasn’t sure that it was going to be my kind of book. I don’t usually choose this type of romantic story, and honestly the descriptive language kind of put me off a bit.

But a few chapters in, and the book had captivated me. The story is genuinely moving, and the particulars of the subculture explored - lesbians just a few years older than me - was intimately familiar and at times deeply touching.

When you come from a very particular group, one that is often ignored or trivialized, you never really expect to see your conflicts and history explored with seriousness and depth. I wept along with the protagonist about Michigan, and appreciated the touch points and the unique perspective of this character who embodied so much of my lived experience.

The storyline has sociological merit, and numerous political points about ageism and such, but that isn’t what I most enjoyed. I cared about the characters and the unfolding love story also. The narration was flawless and added depth and feeling to the story in an unobtrusive way.

I look forward to seeing more from this author!
