The ending
I can’t wait to listen/read the second book!!!! I loved the themes in this book and the way it held my attention. The writing was great and honestly made me feel connected to the characters in a way I didnt expect!

Captivating
Perfect voice acting and a wonderful story. It starts a little slow but ultimately so worth the read. Very disappointed in myself for missing the twist but incredibly excited to see where this goes. I usually stick to smut but something about the art and the book jacket blurb sucked me in. I want to hate the author now that I’ve finished it but we’ll see when the next book comes out.

Great story, wish it was longer!
I loved all the characters and world building. I just wish it would have been longer so that the ending didn't feel as rushed. Can't wait for book #2!

Okay story, awful audio
The audio is AWFUL. The narrator reads in a near monotone voice, lacking a change in inflection and tone for different characters and scenes. I could not tell which character was speaking or if it was the third person narrator. During scenes of action I expect a tempo change, but there were none.
I enjoyed this book but I didn’t love it. The simplicity of the story makes it a teen book, or what YA used to be. The plot, world building, and depth of characters just brushes the surface. Nothing is truly flushed out.
The author states she is a “pantser” and it shows. There are timelines that don’t match up and some holes in the world building.

One of the best books ever
Ugh I can’t even tell you how much I enjoy Hafsah’s writing. Her characters are so deep and enjoyable, so realistic, you feel like you’re part of their story. This book had a great place and a GREAT twist. Best enjoyed with a nice streusel and cuppa. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
