About this listen

They say you should never make a deal with the devil, but what about with the Prince of the Underworld?

Fresh off a breakup and an eviction, I started my day like any other: a book in one hand, a coffee in the other, and faking that can-do attitude inspirational memes are made of. I was ready to take on the world — and I did. Unfortunately, it was the Underworld.

One freak accident later, I’m standing face-to-face with the sexy-as-sin and dangerously powerful Prince of the Underworld. He has a few burning questions for me — like how a mere human unlocked the door to the Underworld’s prison and released its prisoners.

I’d sure as hell like to know, too, because I have no freaking clue.

Now, instead of a forgettable bookstore clerk, I’m newly famous for doing the impossible. The wrong people want to thank me, and the rest want me dead. Spoiler alert: The Dark Prince definitely doesn’t want to thank me.

I’ll do anything to get my life back to normal and he’ll do anything to recapture the escapees. We make a deal: He’ll keep my enemies at bay, and I’ll find a way to return the prisoners.

What could possibly go wrong?

Compelling

Another fantastic book by the talented McKenzie Hunter! It will leave you enthralled and captivated. I couldn't put it down! I willingly lost sleep so I could keep listening! It was both humorous and deep. I cannot wait until the next book!!

Good intro

Nice introduction. I definitely have so many questions, and I very much look forward to getting answers in the next installment. Totally enjoyed quirky, ballsy Luna. She sticks to her guns no matter the threat or temptation.

So Good!

I love the worlds that McKenzie Hunter creates and this is no exception. Luna is your everyday person doing what I consider to be a dream job of working in a book store. She has no idea what is in store for her when she begins reading a book on the supernatural. I love how she was completely unaware of the supernatural world around her. I also love how accepting she is of that supernatural world and how she wants to help despite the craziness of it. The narrator does an amazing job of bringing this world to life and I love that about her. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Good story

I really wanted to just love this story but it was hard to get through. The spice is light but very well done. The story line was great. I think the prose just had too much description which bogged down the pacing and lowered the tension making it easy to put down.

Amazing start

I almost forgot how much I love this author. as I first started the book it did start off a little slow but then right away it picked up and I remembered how good Mckenzie Hunter writes characters.
I love that throughout the book we still really don't know why our "Little Luna" was chosen to be used to free the prisoners or as part of any other schemes. I highly recommend reading but I need to finish this review so I can start the next book

fantastic start to a new series!

This was a super good book, with really good narration. I'm totally loving the Underworld Prince, and our MC, of course. The dynamics between everyone are interesting and I'm really excited to see how they evolve.
I'm driving cross country right now, and each time we stopped and headed back to the car my boyfriend was eager to get back to listening.
We both loved it and can't wait for the next one!

Excellent!

Hurry up with book 2! I can’t wait! Love the premise, so different than all the 99.9% of these books. <3

Not my favorite female lead

If you like a strong female warrior heroine this is not the story for you. interesting plot but I just couldn't get in board with Luna. She came across snotty and childish.
