Publisher's summary

Accounting for Murder: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!*

This is the third of 37 Emma Lathen best sellers, featuring John Putnam Thatcher, SVP of the Sloan Guaranty Trust, who gets to the bottom of things by cutting through various business goings-on. He's a famous accountant who swoops down on a company to examine the books, dissident shareholders, community groups, and others to examine the financial motives in order to nail the killer. A humorous romp for those who like humor and good writing in their mysteries. Called the "American Agatha Christie" and "Nero Wolfe with portfolio" by The New York Times.

Booktrack is an immersive listening experience that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music and sound effects. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Please note: The audio for this title has noise issues at the beginning and end of each file/chapter.

Less Than Amateur

I have read all of Emma Lathen books and loved them. Deaver Brown did a poor job of narration. He sounded as though he was doing a cold reading and had to repeat many words that he messed up. His voice is better suited to a hard boiled PI than a sophisticated man of finance. The worst thing, however, was the music playing through the narration. It was not part of the story and was very distracting. After 3 chapters, I gave up and returned the book. I am disappointed that Audible would carry such a poor product.
