Publisher's summary

New York Times bestselling and Edgar Award-winning author Lisa Scottoline revolutionized crime fiction when she introduced her Philadelphia-based all-female law firm of Rosato & Associates, thrilling listeners with her twisty, fast-paced plots and capturing their hearts with her cast of strong and relatable female characters.

Now Bennie Rosato, Mary DiNunzio, Judy Carrier, and Anne Murphy are back with all cylinders firing in Accused.

Mary Dinuzio has just been promoted to partner and is about to take on her most unusual case yet, brought to the firm by a thirteen-year-old genius with a penchant for beekeeping. Allegra Gardner's sister Fiona was murdered six years ago, and it seemed like an open-and-shut case: the accused, Lonnie Stall, was seen fleeing the scene; his blood was on Fiona and her blood was on him; most damningly, Lonnie Stall pleaded guilty. But Allegra believes Lonnie is innocent and has been wrongly imprisoned. The Gardner family is one of the most powerful in the country and Allegra's parents don't believe in reopening the case, so taking it on is risky. But the Rosato & Associates firm can never resist an underdog. Was justice really served all those years ago? It will take a team of unstoppable female lawyers, plus one thirteen-year-old genius, to find out.

Really want to give it a 3-1/2

What made the experience of listening to Accused the most enjoyable?

Entertaining, interesting, lightweight. The story line is good not great, but there's too much of the cliché Italian family and neighbors and WAY too much of the father, given that the narrator screams all of the father's lines. It's so grating! I got good at fast forwarding so I wouldn't have to listen.

Where does Accused rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

What was one of the most memorable moments of Accused?

Allegra turned out to be a wonderful sister because if it wasn't for her, it may have never been discovered that the wrong person was convicted for murdering her sister.

Have you listened to any of January LaVoy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Never listened to her before.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes exciting

Lot of fluff and weak narrator

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Perhaps but with warning about the fluff & narrator

What was one of the most memorable moments of Accused?

How she got the revelation that lead to the real killer at the church

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of January LaVoy?

Not sure

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

Any additional comments?

I plan to listen to the next book in series and note that there is a different narrator which I hope improve my enjoyment.

Lisa Scottoline strikes again

Glad that she has resurrected Rosato and Associates. Was a bit dubious that it was not Barbara Rosenblat narrating but both the book and the Narrator were wonderful.

Good story

Didn't like narration that much. To much with the south Philly accent with Mary's father especially with his loud voice.

Excellent read

Ever better than the original series! I love Mary and the character development in this story from her perspective. Great narration also, though Barbara Rosenblat is still my favorite.
