Compelling and inspirational Must read
I am so thankful for her willingness to go back into the nightmare to bring this book to fruition. While I have read many accounts of the holocaust this one was different. Seen through the eyes of a child that became an adult so young. A daily walk in the life and the courageous ingenuity used to care for and generously share all that she had and more.

harrowing and heroic
lots and lots of details to follow through one of the most heroic and harrowing stories I've read about wwii survivors. the (jewish) author was persecuted beyond all imagination. she perseveres, displays heroic, intelligent, and fortuitous moxie. not a story that will be easy to forget. the world is a better place for the life of this amazing woman and so are those who are privileged to learn her life story.

Moving story of resilience
It’s hard to fathom the evil that can exist in human hearts, or the resilience of the victims of that evil. Let us never forget.
I’ve listened to other books by this narrator and always enjoy them.

FANTASTIC READ
What an amazing courageous woman. I hope they make this into a miniseries soon! I loved it and the narrator did a fantastic job. Best read in a long time.
