This is Book IV of the Ice and Gold Series.
The gold drew them into the wilderness, only to test them with the most trying and thrilling experiences of their lives. It held them in the boom town of Dawson with a fever that would not break as long as nuggets, flakes, and dust could still be dredged from the muddy creeks, as long as there was even a chance at getting rich off the yellow metal as it spilled to the scales for services rendered, or found its way secreted into one’s pockets for the same.
As the season cools on this great carnival-like summer in the Klondike gold fields, the seeds of civility have been sown but can only sprout at the cost of personal freedom, and for that there will be a battle. We are privy to grandiose displays in the name of love, the pain of rejection, and the fear of what others might think, as relationships are forged to be intertwined forever or burst from the pressures of a dying Victorian Age.
