About this listen

What if you would never remember the day you made the most important decision of your life? That's what they're telling me about the day of my accident - the day I put on Max's ring and chose him over Nate. I'm counting on the wisdom behind a decision I don't remember making. Max is amazing - sexy, sweet, and kind. I was starting to believe happily-ever-after might be in my future after all. Then the unthinkable happened and my world imploded. If I'm going to make this work with Max, I need my missing memories, or at least answers from about those five days before my accident. But what does my future hold if those answers aren't anything like I imagined?

I want to forget this story just so I can listen

To it all over again admittedly there where several parts that frustrated me causing me not to like Hanna, but I love the story telling. Now I'm stuck waiting for more by this author.

Finally, we get answers....

So we finally get to the last book. Finally we get answers. I do want to say that for whatever reason, I did not like this book as much as the prior two. In fact, our FMC Hanna started to really bother me. Why? I'm not really sure. She just started to become really annoying. Almost like she underwent a personality transplant. I truly hate it when that happens.

We spend all of this time getting to know the main characters in these books and begin to become invested in their lives. In Hanna's situation, we follow along as she is trying to understand why she picked one man when it is clear that she is in love with the other. Also, when we met Hanna, she was coming out of the hospital without any memories of the last year. But, she discovers that she had had a complete turnaround in terms of her life. She pushed away from her best friend...her twin sister, had an eating disorder, lost almost 50 pounds, broke up with her boyfriend, had another secret man in her life.......crazy, right? But in this book, most of that is glossed over. Nothing is ever mentioned about her weight, or her eating disorder and she is definitely NOT exercising all the time. Her sister has pretended all is okay (which is probably what would happen in real life if they were really that close - but wouldn't she just maybe ask, "what happened to you over the last year Hanna - why did you push me away?" ) Maybe? Who knows...I don't have a twin sister.

But, in reality, well THIS reality, she doesn't know WHAT she wants. She has an amazing man who has proven that he would give her the world. Then, she has another man who is staying by her side as she is trying to figure out what she wants. And Hanna? Well, Hanna is just mean. Mean to both of them. I get it. She's trying to protect her heart, I think. But man oh man.....I wanted to slap her.

Okay, all that aside. (and granted, that took away some of my enjoyment) but, we finally get the answers to what exactly happened on that last day (no spoilers) and she does make a decision that she sticks with. So.....yay? I should be happier, right?

Truthfully, I really did enjoy this series. It was funny because it grabbed a hold of me and I honestly could not stop myself from binging all three books in one day. Yep, that is crazy! So, even though this book was my least favorite of the three, I still enjoyed the heck out of it. Enough that I went ahead and bought the next couple of books in this world.

Gotta find out what happens between Liz and Sam, right?

But, I am going to take a break and jump into a different genre for a book or two..... I think I need the break :)

Awesome!!!

What made the experience of listening to All for This the most enjoyable?

Listened to all three books, couldn't stop. By the third the story started to drag on but I couldn't stop listening. Kept the suspense until the end.

Perfect Ending for Hanna

Here and Now is an interesting title for Hanna’s story because, for the most part, she’s not living in the present. She’s stuck recalling information that hurts her and redefines her life in many ways. Hanna is not the same person since the accident; from my perspective, there’s a clear distinction between the pre-accident Hanna and the post accident Hanna, but she doesn’t seem to realize that because she’s dealing with information overload. She has two men, who are diverse in most ways except for how they feel about her, vying for her affection. Her mind is a jumbled mess, but I always felt like her heart made the choice for her so long ago; she just needed her mind to catch up with it. The love triangle that exists between Hanna, Max, and Nate is atypical, in a way, because it seems like the dilemma stems from who Hanna truly wants versus who everyone else wants for her. All of her life, Hanna has always let others influence and dictate her life, which has only resulted in an extremely poor sense of self and a life not truly lived. By the end of All For This, Hanna asks for what she wants and needs and knows, in her heart, that that’s what she should have chosen since the very beginning.

As Hanna's personal life gets more and more complicated, the three narrators allow listeners to understand what's at stake for all of them. Hanna's, Max's, and Nate's emotions are made clear through the varying intonations that the narrators use, which added to my appreciation of the text as a whole.

All For This is the perfect ending to Hanna’s story because as Hanna's memories return and others help to fill in the blanks, everything becomes clear for both Hanna and the listeners/readers, which is exactly the resolution readers are looking for in the final book of a series. I loved the Here and Now series, and I can’t wait to see what Lexi Ryan gives listeners/readers next.

Hard to follow when listening

While I really liked this story, it was hard to follow for me when I was listening to it... way too much flipping back and forth between timeframes. I found myself lost a couple of times! I’m sure if I’d been actually reading vs listening that I might not of had this issue!

Wanted to love this series

Would you listen to All for This again? Why?

This was a good series except it seems to go on and on. It would have been a 5 star if Lexi Ryan put this into one or two books.

Any additional comments?

I feel the plot was unique and the characters were developed. I will continue to follow Lexi Ryan and only hope she doesn't drag out her next books. I am also thankful her books have a HEA. I would hate to spend 20 plus hours for a tear jerker.
