About this listen

Drake Carson is the quintessential cowboy. In charge of the family ranch, he knows the realities of this life, its pleasures and heartbreaks. Lately, managing the wild stallions on his property is wearing him down. When an interfering so-called expert arrives and starts offering her opinion, Drake is wary, but he can't deny the longing - and the challenge - she stirs in him.

Luce Hale is researching how wild horses interact with ranch animals - and with ranchers. The Carson matriarch invites her to stay with the family, which guarantees frequent encounters with Drake, her ruggedly handsome and decidedly unwelcoming son. Luce and Drake are at odds from the very beginning, especially when it comes to the rogue stallion who's stealing the ranch mares. But when Drake believes Luce is in danger, that changes everything - for both of them.

I love the Carsons of Mustang Creek

Great 2nd Book in Series. Follows up on all characters and Jack Garrett is a Wonderful Narrator. Anyone who doesn't like him, just doesn't enjoy well-paced, emotion packed reading.

I especially liked the part where the primary characters first meet. It takes him literally 15 minutes to get her to tell him her name. Hilarious!

Love a Western....

Don't know what the complaints about sound quality were but if there were some they were fixed.

Jack Garrett does a good job narrating. It's an audio book not radio drama so it's just a dude reading a book with a fairly manly voice doing ladyish voices. Most books with women reading have pretty ordinary mens parts too.

Story line is a usual western story, great for a rainy day knitting. Love Linda's stories!

Certainly nothing to 'not finish' some folks can be picky but it's their opinion and they're entitled. Good story and it was lovely having it read to me so I can do some chores while I listen. Well worth the credit and the few hours escapism.

Good

THE narrator was okay. Not great but okay. The story was enjoyable enough but not exciting.

Always a cowboy was a great read. Love the way Linda writes , especially her series books.

The ranch and the family were brought to life and made me feel like I knew the characters and was visiting the ranch in person.

Totally enjoying all of these book. They are hard to put down Linda has a way of writing stories that make you laugh and cry. You fall in love with the whole family. Jack is very good at tell the story and making you feel as if you are there.

Voices

Didn’t care for just a male voice it would have been much better with a female voice also

Enjoyable Read; Poor quality audio

I am halfway through the book and there have been multiple pauses, skips and it literally turned off. What kind of racket is this where Amazon/Audible takes our money without providing a viable product? This is highway robbery. I do not have money to burn. I expect your company to provide an authentic product as advertised. Something needs to be done to recompense the readers! I am a very unhappy Audible member. The book is interesting and the narrator is good, even though he has definite difficulty with female voices.

Do some research!!! This was awful!!!

This story was completely unethical. Human research demands informed consent and if it is not given you can’t badger the participant and take notes anyway. You also can not use their family or any means to coerce them. I just added up yelling at my phone each time I tried to slog through it and get to the story. Ugh! Seriously you did not ask a single graduate student to look this over ? Did you interview one? Not a liberal arts major but someone who has done human subject research. VERY FrUSTRATING!!!!!!Blah
