Very basic

Unless this is your first self-help book, you probably will not find any new information here. Wish I had not spent the money and time.
Narrator was a bit dramatic and youthful sounding, which did not add to the overall experience.

Great Info and Approach to Self Improvement, but..

Where does Amaze Yourself rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Relative to all the audiobooks I've listened to in my 55 years, I'd say this one ranks about 1/2 way from the top. I could say 1/2-way from the bottom, but that would be negative.

What didn’t you like about Arika Escalona Rapson’s performance?

The main issue with the listenability of the book, in my opinion is that virtually every sentence trailed off into a flat, nasal tone. After the 40th or so sentence, it became VERY distracting. It was better in later chapters, as more theatrics were introduced (eg. voice modulation, taking on characters' vocal inflections, etc.). However, by then it was too late. Just as I became accustomed to the voice talent and began focusing on the content again, my ears would get zapped by the performer's vocal habits. Though very interesting, this particular book should be read and not heard. Listening via headphones was especially annoying. Thankfully the audiobook is less than three hours in length.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The book contains truly powerful, life-changing information, and would be a great entry-level book for those interested in self analysis or self improvement. The principles are timeless, proven, and they will work for anyone. One example that comes to mind is a principle called, "Acting As If". Acting as if you already happy and successful sets up a "certain neurology pattern" that gradually creates a solid belief on a subconscious level that guides one's actions and behaviours toward actually being happy and successful. It takes conscious practice, but in my experience, the technique works.

Every time I resisted to this book, I hear new tidbits of inspiration. This is truly a book to have on hand when you need to be reminded about staying your course.

Wonderful guide

This book is short and practical. While it does share some inspirational/motivational stories, Dr. Jill also gives you very real steps you can take to improve your life.

Pretty basic stuff, unfortunately.

I guess I should not have had high expectations for a 3 hour book, but I guess I had hope. There's nothing inherently wrong with this book, it's just that there's nothing all that outstanding either. Everything here is pretty much from the first chapter of LOA 101 :)

Dr. Jill Ammon-Wexler claims, of course, to be a doctor -- but I've searched and searched and I cannot find where she got this degree. I'm not suggesting it's untrue, but most people like to brag a bit about where they get their Ph.D. degrees. If I had to guess (and it is a guess), it's probably some some non-accredited "metaphysical university." While this does not discount her work or her advice, I do think it's fascinating.

A radical approach to a new you

I have read many self help books and most of them say the same thing.Jill does try to be more radical encourage the leap of faith.I feel she could have been more forthright .I prefer to learn from others stories ,there were not enough practical examples .i enjoyed it though ,although the constant suggestions and questions were too many .i think we missed an opportunity to have a really amazing book.

Amazing information ...

Book fantastic, took forever to finish due to Narrator's voice .
performance was not the problem.
Voice would be a perfect in a romance novel.
I felt like everything was off.
I will buy hard copy and enjoy the benefits of being able to read this delightful authors work.
