Great read about an amazing American Hero

What a captivating story. The bravery is astounding. I also found the story of his family life so touching as I really didn't understand the deep sacrifices of military families.

Tragic

I really appreciate the honesty that Chris Kyle gives in this book regarding his service in the war in Iraq. however, when reading the book you can tell that Chris, like many Americans, fell under the bush administration's propaganda regarding the war in iraq. But Chris says it best, that he's a SEAL and he is doing what he has ordered to do and he has a job to perform. One of my favorite aspects of the book was that his wife, Taya, has snippets where she talks about her experience. during a certain point in the narrative of the story. It really opens up the audience of the book to not only historians or people who are fascinated with military history, but for those who want to understand what the war is like for military spouses. Overall, Chris's service like all other service members that fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, are deserving of all the praise for their hard work, sweat, blood and tears that they shed due to the war. this is a great book that narrates what the war in Iraq was actually like in the early 2000s. A great read for anybody who has a mild interest. Lastly, I greatly appreciate Chris's humility. when he talks about his experience in the war.

Great book that was hurt significantly by his wife’s addition’s

If this book was able to exclude 90% or more of his wife’s additions it would be an incredible book. Every time one of her sections came up I always found myself thinking what a self centered and egotistical woman. I understand wanting your husband home to be a father but the attitude given off by her and the ultimatum given done nothing but paint her in a negative light. I’m sure she’s a pleasant and good meaning woman in reality but the book does not portray her that way.

He is an inspiring individual and one that young men should strive to be. He only died too young to make a greater impact on his life mission.
