A study conducted by AM Tl, SN Omkar, MK Sharma, A Choukse and their colleagues (2021) found that practicing healthy anger management techniques can be beneficial for individuals. These techniques include relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, distraction techniques such as listening to music, problem-solving techniques such as identifying the triggers of anger and cognitive techniques such as reframing negative thoughts. By using these strategies, individuals can learn to express their anger in a healthy way without causing harm to themselves or others.
Furthermore, research has shown that these techniques can also reduce stress, anxiety and depression, and improve overall well-being. In conclusion, practicing healthy anger management techniques is an important part of maintaining mental health and wellbeing.
In their 2015 article titled “PsychoOncology”, S Archer, S Buxton, and D Sheffield examine the benefits of taking control of anger and stress during cancer treatment. They assert that cancer can be a highly stressful event, with patients facing both physical and emotional challenges. As such, it is important for individuals to find healthy ways to manage their emotions, otherwise the stress can have a negative impact on both the patient’s physical and mental health. The authors explain that one of the best ways to take control of anger and stress is through cognitive restructuring, which is a form of cognitive therapy that helps individuals learn to identify and reframe their thought patterns.
