Uncertain at first

I was uncertain in the first few minutes, but ultimately enjoyed the narration and story. This is a beautifully complex short read. Every sentence was so driven and impactful. I'm a fan of Joe Meno's fiction and am partial to the typically forlorn tone/style.

Mr Holsopple, don’t do this again please!

A powerful, moving, psychologically complex story. Brian Holsopple’s narration is generally fine. But when the protagonist’s teenage daughter speaks, he uses a voice that is so ridiculous and distracting, so unlike a real human voice, so much resembling a voice in a joke in a comedy routine, that it spoils the story.
