Not What I had in Mind

The 'book' is too basic to be useful. As I was listening, I thought it would have been useful to have an accompanying PDF. It did not come with "the accompanying PDF” as referenced many times later in the text. The sample projects were so basic they were not useful enough to provide any motivation to even try an Arduino project. Who would want to invest the time, money, and effort into a project that makes a light blink?

There was no mention of using the Arduino as a stand alone system, but only an accessory to, and hooked up to a PC or Mac. I would have been totally discouraged to try an Arduino if this were my first intro. The subtitle is completely misleading.
