Are You Who You Want to Be: How Knowing Your Identity Lets You Live Your True Purpose
“Who am I?” is a question that has always haunted us. The search for our identity is part of the universal human condition. We experiment with anything and everything in hopes of finding it. But the more we try, the more desperate our longing becomes. Yet here’s the truth that you know is true—though you may not know why: You are the only you that will ever exist in human history. And you also know, (though you can’t explain it) you have a unique purpose to fulfill. You are the only you that God will ever create. It’s time to find out why.
Are You Who You Want to Be is leadership coach and ministry leader Damian Gerke’s third (and fourth) book release. The book retraces the key discoveries, both from Damian’s personal identity journey and from the many people he has coached over the years. The content is deeply thoughtful and provocative, yet surprisingly simple and practical. You’ll find Are You Who You Want to Be personal and vulnerable, sometimes lighthearted but consistently compelling, soul-searching, and frank. You will likely come away challenged and comforted, invigorated and yielded, clarified and convicted.
While Damian reflects personal journey in the framework of faith as a follower of Jesus, he is respectful of those who are of other faith orientations, without judgment, and encourages the use of faith in discovering identity—no matter what your faith background may be.
Important: Are You Who You Want to Be (the book) is paired with The Field Guide for Are You Who You Want to Be. The two releases stand on their own but are paired together to complement one another.

He walks his talk
Refreshing life’s look back trip to take with Mr.Gerke. No pompous dweeb here! Damian’s weaving of Christ within his life i felt was genuine. Damian included Jesus as if He were just another of Damian’s buds. This is good. It was a natural relationship that God wants us to have with his son. Never irreverent, always respectful as we are with our friends. Thank You Damian for keeping your boots on this ground!

Discovering Purpose and Truth
Upon completing my exploration of "Are You Who You Want to Be," I felt compelled to delve even deeper into its profound content by acquiring the accompanying field guide. Initially, the book's unique format presented a delightful departure from the conventional style I had grown accustomed to in my reading experiences. However, as I found my rhythm within its pages, I was irresistibly drawn into its narrative, unable to tear myself away.
I wish to share my initial experience with you, as it may require a brief period of adjustment, just as it did for me. Yet, I assure you, the effort is well worth it. The book posed a formidable challenge, encouraging me to reevaluate my long-held beliefs about identity and purpose with an open and receptive mind. It proved to be a captivating exercise in contemplating the contrasting paradigms of an "inside-out approach" versus an "outside-in approach."
Throughout the pages, Gerke masterfully unfolds his ideas with a creative flair that both expanded my intellectual horizons and rekindled the flame of enduring truths. This book not only introduced me to fresh perspectives I had never before pondered but also served as a poignant reminder of fundamental, timeless principles.
I firmly believe that this book, and I can only assume the accompanying field guide, will serve as a steadfast resource not only for my spiritual growth but also for those dear to me who wrestle with questions of identity and genuine purpose. Its insights have the potential to guide and inspire, offering valuable perspectives for individuals seeking answers to their life's purpose, with the understanding that Jesus is ultimately the answer for finding your purpose.
