Publisher's summary

A mother and daughter are transported to a fantasy realm where they encounter mythical beings—and discover they're capable of wielding magic.

Tech designer Sloane Reinhart and her ten-year-old daughter, Gwyneth, were living ordinary lives outside of Milan, Italy, when an extraordinary event occurred. The sky turned to swirling hues of purplish red and blue, and a thunderclap shook the land. Then there was a blinding flash and a gale force of wind that separated Sloane and Gwyn from each other—and Earth.

Now they're on Eona, a world orbited by two moons and populated by elves, orcs, raithes, and other creatures of legend—but no other humans. In this fantastical medieval society, where royals rule and knights protect those in need, Sloane and Gwyn are strange curiosities to those who, separately, found them. While Sloane finds herself fighting alongside the Knights of Haven's Hope, Gwyn's merchant friends have accepted her innocent claim of being a princess. But despite these exciting adventures with their newfound communities, all mother and daughter want to do is reunite with each other.

And as Sloane and Gwyn confront dangers on their searching quests, both discover an affinity for magic, a talent just as rare in Eona as the humans who conjure it. When word spreads of a woman who crafts magical items and a "princess" who creates fire out of thin air, the noble factions of Eona recognize a threat to the natural order of things—and an opportunity to use the humans to shift the balance of power across the realm.

The first volume of the hit LitRPG fantasy series—with more than 500,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

very YA

if you like YA this story has every thing you want, a bunch of people that have no control over their emotions as if they were little kids acting like adults. and the actual little kid seems barely left immature. slow progressing plot that doesn't really pay off in any significant way. convenient companions. I rated high because I feel like every author should get their book rated high for taking the chance to write something but in all honesty this book was not for me. I enjoy a more mature more adult fantasy I guess. but this one just feels like it's a teenager trying to write adults that has never actually met one

Building block

There is a lot of set up and world building for the rest of the books to come which makes the story feel a bit slow but I enjoyed the book nonetheless. The narrator did a great job by using multiple accents throughout the book.

An excellent introduction to a truly massive world

A lot of the time when I listen to an audio book I just wait for the next audio release. This one, though, I can't wait. Even after a 17 hour audiobook (which is a total steal for 1 audible credit) I want more, and will definitely be looking to read everything that's currently out.

Seriously, if you're on the fence and you like epic fantasy worlds, then I couldn't recommend this one enough.

A good start to a new world.

This is a good start to a New World and a new series.
There are a few pacing issues, but they’re not bad.
Looking forward to seeing more in this series.

Agree with the YA comments

This book isn't bad, so long as you don't mind most males being villains, useless, or rich and willing to throw money at a girl or woman with little to no proof of what they say.
