I love Lupin, but I'm not a fan of Sholmes
Overall the story is great. I have no complaints about the pace or the mystery of the Blonde lady (I wasn't a fan of the second one but that was mostly a matter of personal taste). I loved Arsene Lupin he is witty and clever and it feels easy to root for him despite the fact he is a theif. My main problem is with their portrayal of Herlock Sholmes. He is supposed to be based off of Sherlock Holmes and I am a fan of Sherlock Holmes, but it seems to me that this character deviated from Conan Doyles iconic character to much. While he did have a reasoning process that was pretty much the same as the one Doyle created, his intuition seems to me to be not on par with Sherlock Holmes and he falls for some traps that I could never see Holmes falling for. He also fails for figure out things that I think Holmes would have definitely discovered. Also his treatment of his version of Watson, Wilson is something that is completely against Sherlock treatment of Watson. Sherlock is kind to Watson in his own way and cares about him deeply. In this book Wilson gets injured on certain occasions and Herlock treats it in differently he has very little care for Wilson and is utterly selfish.
Aside from the portrayal of Sholmes I enjoyed the book immensely. it is fun and interesting and definitely a good story. despite Shocked I definitely recommend this book. James Mawson's performance was splendid, he did an excellent hob of giving characters individual voices that suited their personality.
