Narrator!

I gave the story only one star because I couldn't listen to any of it past the first two minutes! The narrator was terrible!

Mediocre at best

What would have made Asylum better?

I bought the Audible version. MISTAKE - could I get bigger caps please. A gravely voiced old man reading the part of a young, supposedly sexy woman? What gives? It totally throws off the story. It needed a different narrator so bad. I could not finish it. I totally lost touch before the finish. I mean really, who can listen to a gravely voiced man getting the hots for a guy when it is supposed to be a young woman? It is just screwy. It didn't make sense in my head and it was all I could focus on and the story was out of sorts as a result.

Has Asylum turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, just lost interest because the narration was so poorly done.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Paul Cameron?

Female

Hard to understand narrator

If you could sum up Asylum in three words, what would they be?

READ THE BOOK

What didn’t you like about Paul Cameron’s performance?

There was no performance, no offense to the narrator, but he was hard to understand, I don't know if its the equipment he used to record if it was not filtering out hisses and clicks in the speech or the narrator himself. There also seemed to be no emotion. It was very monotone and it at times felt like he was just reading a contract word for word as one long running sentence with no feeling at all. I had bad cell phone reception that was easier to understand at times. It made listening to the audiobook very difficult. I would of returned book if I didn't forget it in my files for three years.

Any additional comments?

I would not recommend this as an audio book.
