Publisher's summary

Ready for peace, connection and union? It’s as close as your breath.
Breathing is both wonder and paradox: it is something so simple that we are born knowing how to do it yet a person can train for their entire life in an effort to learn how to do it well. It is something that appears to be a solitary act and yet coordinating our breath with another is a deep act of intimacy. On one level it is a physical act, and yet the spiritual implications of the breath are profound.
In the book of Genesis, God reached down and scooped up a handful of dirt. God breathed into that dirt and made the first human being. In the book of Exodus, a lonely man met the creator of the universe in the shape of a burning bush. That Burning Bush told Moses his name. This is a name we sometimes translate as Yahweh, other times translate as Jehovah. And yet, the Hebrew letters that were spoken suggest a very unique name indeed: not so much a series of sounds meant to be said as a recreation of the act of breathing itself: God's very name is the act of breathing. And so, with every breath, we are saying God's name.
God Breathed begins with these accounts and inorporates several other images from the Bible. These are used as the foundation for a series of reflections and clearly defined, easy-to-read meditations, visualizations, reflections, and sacred reading practices. Ideal for readers who wish to begin a spiritual practice and for more experienced meditators interested in a practice more closely aligned to their beliefs, you can transform your contemplations with this small book.
