Each chapter follows a standard format starting with a summary, then clear explanation of the pathophysiology, subsequently salient clinical aspects ensues. Every chapter concludes with several case studies, followed by key points, and a comprehensive list of references.
Each topic was clearly written without complex flow charts and algorithms. In writing this book, PubMed database was searched for relevant basic science and clinical articles in addition to the leading journals in nephrology, endocrinology, critical care, physiology, and internal medicine. The articles reviewed include clinical trials, comprehensive reviews, and case studies deemed of clinical significance. Major textbook chapters were reviewed as well. Neph-SAP® issues and material from numerous presentations given at the American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week were reviewed as well.
