Publisher's summary

Oregon's Measure 110, which effectively decriminalized the possession of all drugs from February 2021 until September 2024, was an utter disaster for all the wrong reasons. People have the right to use any narcotic that they want, and narcotics should be legal, controlled by the government, manufactured in safe settings, and distributed to users freely in an environment where they can use it with dignity and aren't victimized by other members of society and governments because of social norms and asinine ideologies. It's time for Americans and nations around the world to accept that some addicts don't want to stop using drugs, and we should stop wasting money on a cat-and-mouse criminal justice system that essentially costs a bunch of money, causes social problems, and directly and indirectly kills people. Most people will never have a new car, a nice house, the best sneakers, or money saved in the bank, and this is okay. Many people don't want this, and we must respect individual freedoms and choices, whether we like it or not. Many people have turned to illicit substances as a form of self-medication as a result of mental illness and trauma, which is compounded by inadequate healthcare systems and being underinsured. Oregon's Measure 110 was a bold statement in American terms, but it was done for all the wrong reasons. This law was passed to ghettoize Oregon as a result of the political and social problems that have been pervasive in the state for the past decade with hate organizations, anti-government groups, and Antifa. The reality is that AI offers a solution for all of this in which drug users can be counseled and given their drugs in a safe setting in which there are medical staff and police on hand in conjunction with helping some of the individuals who have turned to far-left and far-right organizations that endorse hateful ideologies and extremism. Sadly, hundreds of thousands of homeless people have died in Oregon in the past three years, and although Measure 110 looked on the surface like something that embodied the values of individual freedom, it wasn't, and now, the addicts that have been victimized by the improper roll out of the measure are being preyed upon in a worse manner by Oregon's government as they have criminalized the use of narcotics once again.
