Publisher's summary
I'm Mackenzie Wellesley, and I've spent my life avoiding the spotlight. But that was four million hits ago... Blame it on that grade school ballet recital, when I tripped and pulled the curtain down, only to reveal my father kissing my dance instructor. At Smith High, I'm doing a pretty good job of being the awkward freshman people only notice when they need help with homework. Until I send a burly football player flying with my massive backpack, and make a disastrous - not to mention unwelcome - attempt at CPR.
Just when I think it's time for home schooling, the whole fiasco explodes on YouTube. And then the strangest thing happens. Suddenly, I'm the latest sensation, sucked into a whirlwind of rock stars, paparazzi, and free designer clothes. I even catch the eye of the most popular guy at school. That's when life gets really interesting...
Editorial reviews
Think you're awkward? Compared to Mackenzie Wellesley, you're as smooth as the Queen of England. Clumsiness is a way of life for this charming heroine, and what's worse, she's about to become a YouTube sensation...for tripping a football player and unnecessarily giving him mouth-to-mouth. Cassandra Morris gives a smash performance as this all-too-adorable teen. She embodies Mackenzie's wide-eyed innocence in that pitch-perfect teen cadence. Being a high school student isn't easy for anyone, and young adult listeners will certainly identify with this story while they laugh out loud at - or with? - Mackenzie.

Cameron Bates (Cam) could have almost any girl at Franklin High School...except for the one he wants. Unfortunately Bebe seems to be immune to his flirty charm and good looks, which means one of two things: a) she's completely oblivious to how he feels, or b) she's just not into him. Story
Norris is clever, cynical, and quite possibly too smart for his own good. A Black French Canadian, he knows from watching American sitcoms that those three things don’t bode well when you are moving to Texas. Plunked into a new high school, Norris finds himself cataloging everyone he meets: the Cheerleaders, the Jocks, the Loners, and even the Manic Pixie Dream Girl. Making a ton of friends has never been a priority for him, and this way he can at least amuse himself until it’s time to go back to Canada, where he belongs. Yet those labels soon become actual people to Norris....

Just the right amount of cheese....
This book is definitely not what I expected… I was awkward in middle school and high school so I can definitely relate to the main character but the book has some twists and turns along the way...
I really like the main characters awkward quirkiness and the fact that her mom is a single mom and the dad left...

Fun listen
This is a pretty far fetched but fun listen. A a nice little break from some heavier listens. The narrator did a great job with all the voices. It does end a bit abruptly but overall it was an entertaining listen.

Cute story, the pacing is good. Made me long for princess diaries and old 90's movies. I loved this story, it wasn't to predictable to me and it kept me enterained.
