The dry humor is almost missed.
This is a great story with lots of tongue in cheek humor, which I almost missed because the narrator doesn’t quite get it herself. She could have paused or used some inflection to help us hear the jests and snide comments made by the writer. So if you get this book, listen carefully for the humor. Makes the book so much better!
