"This satire offers a thought-provoking and scathing indictment that may prod readers to examine the more sinister possibilities of corporate- and media-dominated culture." —Publishers Weekly(starred review)

For Titus and his friends, it started out like any ordinary trip to the moon — a chance to party during spring break and play with some stupid low-grav at the Ricochet Lounge. But that was before the crazy hacker caused all their feeds to malfunction, sending them to the hospital to lie around with nothing inside their heads for days. And it was before Titus met Violet, a beautiful, brainy teenage girl who has decided to fight the feed and its omnipresent ability to categorize human thoughts and desires. Following in the footsteps of George Orwell, Anthony Burgess, and Kurt Vonnegut Jr., M. T. Anderson has created a not-so-brave new world — and a smart, savage satire that has captivated readers with its view of an imagined future that veers unnervingly close to the here and now.©2002 M.T. I really enjoyed this book. It took a few to catch onto the wording but what an awesome concept. It jerks you around by your heart in a few places. what a great ride. I will have to "go" again.

This story was well read and narrated. I also enjoyed listening to the Feed embedded in the story. I am looking forward to seeing this story on film in theater in the future.

Two Thumbs Up

Except for the prolific swearing, the book show amazing insight and very relevant to today's society. (Though even the swearing has a purpose in showing the loss of language in a high tech society of dreams.)

The language threw me at first, but once I got used to it, I enjoyed the story. I felt like I missed a lot so I listened again and I'm glad I did. I find eerily similar aspects of social media today. It already controls most of our time, will lit control our body too?

I wasn't sure, but listened again and I love it.
