Bobby Callahan was only 20 when an accident left him disfigured for life. The doctors patched up his body but they couldn't fix his mind.

Huge chunks of his memory were lost but he knew someone had tried to kill him and that the "accident" was deliberate. He knew he had the key to something that made him dangerous to the murderer but he didn't know what. No one believed him... so he hired Kinsey Millhone.

Three days later Bobby was dead. But Kinsey never welshed on a deal. She'd been hired to stop a killing, now she'd find the killer instead.©1986 Sue Grafton; (P)1993 Books on Tape

Spellbinding. Well written, I read these books years ago, and had forgotten how down to earth Kinsey Milhone is.

Terrific writer and a great reader

This title’s ending was lax. It didn’t solve the problem well. So the scammer was hauled off by the cops. And Henry got his money back. But I wanted to know more about the perpetrator. What made her do it?

I like this series of books and the reader is good. Unabridged and it is the whole story.

I liked the story and characters There was a lot of swearing using the f word especially the first half of the book. I wish Sue Grafton would write without the swearing. I'll be looking for other authors with cleaner language.

Good story
