The perennially bestselling golf title, Golf in the Kingdom, hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as the "masterpiece on the mysticism of golf," is a wonderfully told romp through the Scottish links, the most beautiful and challenging golf courses in the world where, truly, anything is possible. This audio discusses the essential deep truths about the game of golf and also expands on some new and extremely unique approaches to golf instruction.

John Hannah, an accomplished stage actor, has appeared on television and in the films Madagascar Skin, The Final Cut and Four Weddings and a Funeral. He has performed the audio production of Michael Murphy's The Kingdom of Shivas Irons, also available from BDD Audio.

Named one of "The Fifty Best Golf Books Every Golfer Should Read" by Golf Digest

"Mystical" -- The New York Times

"Almost 50 years ago, Michael Murphy penned what many consider to be the definitive book on golf — not that he knew it at the time. But to this day, the magical power and mystical musings of golf in the kingdom inspire" -- Golf

“In the late ’70s, I discovered my caddie Mike [Fluff] Cowan had one book in his possession — a copy of Golf in the Kingdom, which was all torn apart and held together by tape and rubber bands. I said, ‘What is this?’ He growled, ‘Only the best golf book ever written.’ And he was right.” -- Peter Jacobsen

“It gives us the language to talk about the spiritual side of the game, which I have always believed in.” -- Brad Faxon

“a golf classic if any exists in our day.” -- John Updike

"...this book is a slow burn that relies on dialogue to make the reader think and examine why they play golf. As such, the book is best enjoyed by golfers who enjoy the mental aspects of the game and especially those that live for the feeling of peace the sport brings." -- Golflink.com

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and we'll have to read it now further grass plexus ease shivers. apologies for punctuation as I am voice to texting this in. Michael Murphy was quoted several times in the book Be a Player which led me to listen to this book. I'm someone jealous of his experience with jibbers irons, something I'll not be able to have personally, but can Endeavor to live out through the writing in this book. golf in the Kingdom has not made me a better golfer yet, but I am enjoying the game much more. through that continued enjoyment I will continue to improve. I love this game, the game that can't be won only played, credit The Legend of Bagger Vance. I love everything about it. at 63 years old I'm playing the best golf of my like and choke in tournaments. I'm now exploring the mental side of the game and through that exploration and finding a spiritual side to the game. maybe that's why I've loved it so much for so long

golf is life, if you can just see it

Love this book and message. The voice actor is weak and takes away from the experience. Should have been a male with better voice acting skills.

I'm so glad Michael Murphy wrote these books "Golf in the Kingdom" and "The Kingdom of Shivas Irons." They are physics and metaphysics told in autobiography story form. The way he writes makes the reader/listener feel present in the story and EXPERIENCING what the author is which is -- expanding of his mind and awareness beyond our so-called normal parameters where only the physical exists. There is so much more to our physical "reality" than most of us acknowledge and realizing this is crucial to improving our world, not to mention expanding our joy in living and fulfilling our lives. And there is no denigration or devaluing of the physical aspect of reality, rather, increased appreciation! A truly valuable and beautiful book.

The first two thirds of the book was great. He kind of lost me at the end. Overall a good book.
