Leigh is a beautiful girl, 18 years old, headstrong and rebellious. All she wants from her summer by the lake is a chance to relax and have some fun. And that handsome boy she just met certainly looks like fun. But her summer fling will lead to terror. That night in the old abandoned house will haunt her nightmares for the rest of her life.©2006 Books in Motion (P)2006 Books in Motion Horror Scary

The person reading book seemed to have a thick accent at times that didn’t match up to where the story was set

Laymon is my favorite author. Always has an unsuspecting plot twist.

The narrator has an annoying habit of pronouncing words that end with a "D" as "T".
Around becomes arount. Head becomes Headt. It is super annoying and make me wonder how this passes editing or review.

great story despite ultra annoying narrator

Two dimensional characters with unrealistic interactions. Two thirds into the story, new characters are introduced with absolutley no relevance to the story line. Very disappointed.

I love Laymon, but skip this one...

It's probably my least favorite Laymon book. Not a real great plot, characters continually put themselves into compromising situations with bad decisions bordering on idiotic. Some good, typical Laymon parts that have you squirming. I would not read this again but I'm glad I did as I'm reading all his books.

Not his best buy any means but still good.

I’ve been reading Laymon books since I was 14 (late thirties now) so I know what to expect… but this one is just bad. So bad I’ve stopped multiple times and I’m only on chapter 3.

The narrator isn’t great. The female characters spend too much time daydreaming and fantasizing about all the gruesome violence that COULD happen to them when in reality absolutely nothing has happened.

I probably won’t finish this one.

This is just bad
