Laci Rocha Peterson, 8 months pregnant, was last seen by her sister, Amy, in the late afternoon of December 23, 2002. She spoke to her mother, Sharon Rocha, at 8:30 p.m. that night. This would be the last time anyone from her immediate family ever spoke to her.

A search began which lasted an agonizing four months. Sadly, Laci Peterson and her son Conner were found dead on the shores of San Francisco Bay on April 18, 2003.

Her husband, Scott, was eventually arrested and charged with the murder of Laci and Connor. After a sensational, media-saturated trial, Peterson was found guilty of capital murder and was sentenced to death on March 16, 2005.

This book deals with the story in three separate sections: first, Sharon describes the ordinary, loving life her daughter led, including fond memories of her childhood and adolescence. Second, it covers her marriage, disappearance, the community's moving search for her, and her and Connor's eventual recovery from San Francisco Bay. Third, it tells the story of the trial in detail not before revealed. Sharon will also talk about victim's rights, a subject on which she now campaigns regularly.©2005 Sharon Rocha; (P)2006 Books on Tape

This was the most raw, engaging , emotional, honest story I've heard since I have started my membership with Audible. I find that with most books I've purchased , there may be 1 for every 10 I buy that actually hold my interest long enough to finish it. Well this one by far, WILL NOT disappoint and if someone like me who needs instant and constant stimulation to hold my interest for 11 hours, no break because I couldn't stop listening, then believe me that says a lot! It's a must read!!! Period!

OMG!!!THE BEST BOOK I'VE LISTENED TO THUS FAR!!!

I’ve listened to the book twice. It’s not just a story of the tragedy of Laci’s senseless death, but also of the intense love her mother had for her daughter. I thought it courageous of Sharon Rocha to tell the story of how her life came crashing down on her. I also feel a connection to Laci. Maybe it’s because we were around the same age and had a passion for cooking and entertaining our families. The book makes me understand just how vulnerable women really are. I can’t imagine the book being narrated by anyone else. Excellent narration & listen.
Rest in sweet peace, Laci & Conner.

I loved the telling of Laci and Connor’s story. It is a sad yet poignant memorial, eloquently penned by a loving mother.

Wonderful memorial of sweet Laci

I remember hearing about this when it happened and my heart hurt for this family with their loss. Unimaginable that it’s been over 20 years. This book brought it all home again and walking through the memories from Lacy’s mother was one of the most difficult but inspiring journeys all in one. So sad.

Incredible! I couldn't stop listening to this book. Despite its long length I was captivated from the first moment. I laughed and cried throughout the book and felt her pain so clearly as a mother. I felt as though I was living through every moment of the entire story with them. What a beautiful tribute to her daughter and grandson.
