Most people aren’t very comfortable in the woods, but the woods of Briery Swamp fit May Bird like a fuzzy mitten. There, she is safe from school and the taunts and teases of kids who don’t understand her. Hidden in the trees, May is a warrior princess, and her cat, Somber Kitty, is her brave guardian.
Then May falls into the lake.
When she crawls out, May finds herself in a world that most certainly does not feel like a fuzzy mitten. In fact, it is a place few living people have ever seen. Here towns glow blue beneath zipping stars and the people –walk through walls. Here the Book of the Dead holds the answers to everything in the universe. And here, if May is discovered, the horrifyingly evil Bo Cleevil will turn her into nothing. May Bird must get out. Fast.
Within these pages, Jodi Lynn Anderson shares with us the beginning of May Bird’s daring journey into the Ever After, a haunting place where true friends–and one terrible foe–await May around every corner.©2005 Jodi Lynn Anderson; (P)2005 Random House, Inc. I love the book! It was told so creatively. At the end though it left me on a cliffhanger, which bothered me, because it’s a wonderful book about a girl who travels to another world! I hope aubible reads the part two book cause I can’t find it anywhere. I’m checking my library today. Wish me luck! (I recommend this book!!!)

It was amazing, but where the part two?

I really enjoyed this book even though it was a little slow. This book was almost kinda of scary.

The voices of the different characters.

Just like everyone else reviewing this book. I also read this series as a child. The narrator really brings it to life. We just need the last two books on audio.

It needs to be finished on audio.

This was a lighthearted delightful read. One which intrigues the imagination. I found myself chuckling outloud on numerous occasions. The narrator really brought the characters to life and the detailed descriptions by the author allowed me to envision the characters no matter how crazy they seemed.

Hooray for May
