In his first adventure since the revelation that he’s a parent, Dirk Pitt must uncover the truth behind the myth of another long-lost father-figure, Homer’s Odysseus, if he’s going to stop a dangerous cult from reshaping the earth in their own image.

Fraternal twins, Summer Pitt and Dirk Pitt, Jr., are working to determine the origin of a strange brown tide infesting the ocean off the shore of Nicaragua when two startling things happen: Summer discovers an artifact, something strange and beautiful and ancient. And the worst storm in years boils up out of the sky, heading straight for them and a nearby floating luxury resort hotel called Ocean Wanderer.

The peril for everybody concerned is incalculable. And now that Dirk Pitt has learned he’s a father, he will stop at nothing to protect his two children. He rushes into the chaos, only to find that what’s left in the storm’s wake makes the furies of nature pale in comparison. For there is an all-too-human evil at work in that part of the world, and Summer’s relic may be the only clue to the man calling the shots. Whoever he is, he’s connected to a cult that believes the Celts, also known as the Achaeans, reached the New World millennia before the accepted history suggests. If he’s right, his ancestors laid the foundation for the work he will soon complete—and our world will be a very different place.

Though if Summer's discovery is to be believed, the world is already a very different place...

I started reading Clive Cussler years ago because my Dad recommended them as interesting history/action books without the graphic sex and violence than so many other writers of the genre stoop to.
While the dialogue can be a bit corny and sometimes the phrasing hackneyed, for the most part I find the stories entertaining and not offensive as I am not a fan of foul-language either.
Hopefully, Audible will begin to add some of the earlier books in the series as most of the Dirk Pitt novels refer to earlier adventures. Sahara, Atlantis Found and Valhalla Rising are essentials, in my opinion.
Scott Brick is enjoyable as narrator and manages to incorporate female characters without sounding distractingly ridiculous.

Enjoy, If You Are A Dirk Pitt/Cussler Fan

I am in the middle of this book and I'm puzzled that Scott Brick (who has to be the best narrator I've ever heard!!) seems to have lost his voices for Pitt, Sandecker and Giordino.
I have been binge listening to this series and when I started this novel, it seemed like Scott forgot the voices he was using for the three main characters. There are times when the same voice is coming from two characters in the same conversation.
I am truly puzzled, but still feel Scott is the best out there. If you pass this along to him, I would love to know if it was intentional or accidental. Thanks.
As for the story, they're ALL great!! I am truly enjoying this series - all except the abridged edititons. I really would love my money back for Atlantis Found - but I finished it... finally... thank goodness.

Scott... what happened?

Trojan Odyssey, by Clive Cussler, is perhaps the greatest adventure I have ever undertaken. And, if not the greatest, then certainly among it great literary contemporaries. The story is as vast and sweeping as the ocean it sails upon. From the beginning to the grand finale, no moment is wasted. Mr. Cussler has woven a modern masterpiece of suspense, intrigue, and adventure. I can’t wait to completely loose myself in more of his works. Fantastic!

Perfection!
