Author James Hollis' eloquent reading provides the listener with an accessible and yet profound understanding of a universal condition - or what is commonly referred to as the mid-life crisis. James Hollis has gifted us so many lessons through his rich writing, and yet, I am always wishing to learn more and more from him. He distills what few of us can gather from our individual lives and stories, to a greater telling of what we have to encounter and learn in and through the middle passage. My only other wish is that his was the voice reading all his other audiobooks.

I really loved this book. It's clear that the author has gone through what so many are going through during this time of life. I found it probably overly-prosaic, but some of the poetry, philosophy and psychology it references are demanding of such. And it's authentic, not AI slop that's flying around today.

Highly recommend to anyone progressing through their middle passage.

excellent listen-thought provoking and deep
