You Slay Me is a lusty romance novel with amusing supernatural undercurrents. When courier Aisling Grey is dispatched to Paris to deliver a priceless dragon statue to a rich and eccentric female collector, she finds the intended recipient the apparent victim of a demonic ritual. And that's just the beginning of Aisling's discoveries.©2004 Martha Arends (P)2005 Recorded Books, LLC Fantasy Paranormal Demons Witches & Wizards Romantic Suspense Horror

The story moves along quickly and has a lot of tongue in cheek fun. The narrator does a good job of creating different voices for different characters. Her voice changes nicely with the tone of the book. Unfortunately the recording has too many sounds of swallowing and mouth noises that I found distracting and gross. I had to listen with the volume down so that I couldn't hear her mouth noises.

fun story, good narration, bad narrator traits

Funny, sexy and entertaining. Characters you'd like to meet & spend time with. The narration was outstanding. Reminds me of the Evanovich character Stephanie Plumb but in a comic Purgatory.

Really funny!

The story is fun and the characters are great. The character voices and inflection are good. The audio team didn't do a very good job cleaning up the tracks. The amount of spit smacking decreased my enjoyment and my rating.

So Much Spit!

The author has a quirky irreverent view of the fantasy world. One never knows what will happen next. Paris will never be the same.

The narration needs some work.
Cons: Weird crackle sounds throughout. Jewelry clinking? papers rustling? Background laughter/conversation audible at times. Very distracting.

Pros: Lovely husky voice. The French and fake French accents were very convincing. Good pace and energy.

A crazy otherworld romp
